OUR GROUP
A NEW CHAPTER: PLANTAFARM AND MARTIN BAUERR
The year 1998 marked a milestone for Plantafarm as it became part of the MartinBauer Group, headquartered in Vestenberggreuth, Germany.
MartinBauer is a global leader in the production of herbal and fruit infusions, medicinal teas, botanical powders, extracts, active ingredients, phytopharmaceuticals, and nutritional supplements. With more than 20 manufacturing sites and sales units worldwide, the group maintains a dynamic connection with local markets and global trends.
Its team of over 2,300 employees, many with decades of experience, works tirelessly to ensure a competitive advantage for its clients.
The group generates consolidated annual revenue exceeding €700 million, a testament to its strength and leadership in the sector.

TIMELINE
1964Foundation
On January 7, 1964, Plantafarm S.A. was founded in Villanueva del Condado, León (Spain). Its initial activity focused on the production of Mentha piperita (peppermint), a plant perfectly suited to the region’s climate.
1980sInitial Growth
During the 1980s, Plantafarm experienced significant growth, expanding its workforce from 15–20 employees to over 60, reflecting its market expansion.
1997Facilities Expansion
The company significantly expanded its facilities, growing from 3,000 m² to 20,000 m², with new areas dedicated to warehousing and production.
1998Integration into the MartinBauer Group
Plantafarm became part of the German MartinBauer Group, which is part of The Nature Network®, strengthening its commitment to quality and sustainable growth.
2000sMabapex and Mabatherm
Two exclusive systems were introduced for microbiological control and raw material disinfestation: mabapex and mabatherm, consolidating Plantafarm’s leadership in product safety and quality.
2020GO ZERO Project
Martin Bauer and all its subsidiaries launched the GO ZERO Project, an environmental sustainability commitment aimed at reducing carbon emissions throughout the entire value chain.
2022Sustainability Commitment
As part of its clean energy initiative started in 2018, Plantafarm installed solar panels with a capacity of more than 500 kW for electricity generation and self-consumption.
Last 15 YearsConsolidation
Over the past 15 years, Plantafarm has experienced significant growth in production capacity and employment, reaching a workforce of over 80 employees and consolidating its position as a sector leader.
